OK, here's this month's contest, if you dare...

Merlin has just appeared to grant your heart's desire; finally you'll be able to travel back to the past and live it as it really was! You're so excited you jump at the opportunity. You don't even have to worry about what to bring or what to where; Merlin will take care of everything for you. He begins to chant and calls down the mists. Fog wraps around you. You begin to feel a bit disoriented and concentrate on your target in the past. Thoughts swirl through your head.

"Wait," you cry out.

There's one little thing you didn't think through too well. That one something - some sort of modern convenience you simply can't be without? Sorry, it's too late. You've already been transported to the past. (Is that Merlin you hear chuckling in the background?) Your assignment is to write in 500 words or less what that modern convenience is and how you'd get the job done without it in the past. Be descriptive, realistic and thorough. Don't forget to tell us where you ended up and the year.
