The Boar's Head Feast is a Christianized version of the harvest and winter pagan feasts (as many of our traditions are.....). The Boar, being a fierce and feared animal in his day, was a good target for testing the manliness of the hunters. So, it was a prize catch. For the celebration of the Christmas season, the Boar has taken on the persona of "evil" (Satan) and slaying the Boar is like Christ coming to earth to triumph over evil. The type of feast that we put on is very much what others sometimes call a "Madrigal Dinner". It is a sort of night of medieval flavoured entertainment and food, costumes and sets (try turning a church basement into a castle!....but we do......) Like Ren fests, the flavour is very 16th century, but it is put out there for modern consumption.

Frodo Baggins and pals embark on a peril filled quest to keep a magic ring from falling into the clutches of the forces of darkness. To star: Elijah Wood (Frodo), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Cate Blanchette (Galadriel)
FROM HELL Jack the Ripper terrorizes Victorian London. Is there another eerie period picture in the works for Johnny Depp? Why not after he did such a great job in Sleepy Hollow? It looks like he's to star along with Terence Stamp and Nigel Hawthorn. Currently in pre-production, to be directed by the Hughes Brothers and filmed in Prague. It's an adaption of the dark, bloody Alan Moore/Eddie Campbell comic book series.
QUEEN OF THE DAMNED Anne Rice's, Lestat, becomes a rock n' roll star and faces a powerful new enemy - the ancient Egyptian goddess, Akasha. In pre-production, Warner Bros. has not announced a release date yet. Rumored to star is Wes Bentley, American Beauty's voyeur.

HIGHLANDER: END GAME OK Highlander Fans, the wait is over. End Game (the tentative title) was filmed in London and Romania last winter and is scheduled for an autumn 2000 release. Christopher Lambert (Conner) and Adrian Paul (Duncan) team up together for the forth installment of the Highlander legend. (Highlander -1986, Highlander II: The Quickening - 1991, and Highlander - The Final Dimension - 1994).
Producer, Bill Panzer gives us some hints, ÒWe see both Conner and Duncan together in the past. We see them meet, learn a secret from Conner's past that we never knew and that Duncan never knew. We meet a villain who's known Conner since he was a boy. I think you can watch Highlander I and then this movie and they will flow seamlessly together.' Although the movie focuses mainly on Duncan and Conner, some fans will be glad to know that both Joe Dawson and Methos also make an appearance. The first three Highlander movies are available on video. The original Highlander is also available in an extended Director's Cut.(recommended)

WITCHBLADE premiered August 27 on TNT. The two hour movie was shot in Toronto and Los Angeles based on the Top Cow comic. Homicide detective,Sara Pezzini, played by Yancy Butler (Hard Target, Drop Zone), comes across a mystical gauntlet. Little does she know it's the Witchblade, an ancient object that once every generation chooses a female host to invest with its superhuman powers. Rumor has it the armor and weapons are fantastic. Witchblade swats bullets, morphs into a 14' stiletto or a full-length sword and turns into head to toe battle armor. There's talk that the movie might be the source of a new series. Director, Ralph Hemecher, describes the possible series as Excalibur in New York battling against criminals and menaces.
